The North Dakota Child Care Action Alliance is hosting a virtual “ND Child Care Legislative Update” with advocacy opportunities to ensure the passage of SB 2301, the child care stabilization program. The goal of the session is to engage and mobilize parents, providers, workers and businesses in the critical next steps toward increasing access to affordable, quality child care through passage of SB2301.
Monday, March 6th 7pm-8pm Zoom registration required
It is undeniable that child care is a critical component of a thriving economy for North Dakota. That is why the NDCCAA fully supports SB 2301, the Child Care Stabilization Program. SB 2301 increases worker pay through state-supplemented benefits and wages to shore-up and expand access to child care. Without this investment to recruit, retain and grow this workforce, our already fractured child care system is not sustainable. NDCCAA estimates the bill requires a $150 million annual investment to supplement the wages and benefits of child care workers.
This one-hour virtual session will include:
Getting legislative updates on the status of the Child Care Stabilization Program bill (SB2301)
Learning how to talk about the importance of the bill
Hearing personal testimonials from providers
Finding opportunities for YOU to engage and help pass SB 2301
Asking questions about the bill, the process or next steps
With the support of parents, providers and workers like you, NDCCAA will continue our campaign in support of SB 2301. A better child care system is in reach for North Dakota. To get there, policymakers must focus on long-term solutions and balance the needs of families and child care providers.
